      Glad you enjoyed the video and it helped you. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I just finished a week long trip from Georgia to West Virginia and back that was about 1,500 miles. The 750 GS was perfectly comfortable and had plenty of power for both back roads and highway. It’s so light and nimble - I love it. Good luck.

    My understanding is that a tune is required with these slip-ons if you use a high flow air filter. My 107 doesn't have a high flow filter, I'm thinking because of that I won't need a tune. Is this correct?

    • @GARamblinMan

      I’m no expert on this, but I don’t think a tuner is required for just slip-on mufflers.

    Good video, Douglas. I wouldn't mind riding route 16 again; it sure was a fun trip. These mid-size ADV bikes really shine in this environment. This was the first extended day trip on my Tiger and it continues to impress me with its power and handling. I just wish the seat was better. It really kills my behind after about 90 minutes. I guess I'm going to have to spring for the Sargent seat 😣. We need to get that October trip on the books. Take care, my friend.

    • @GARamblinMan
      @GARamblinMan 11 днів тому

      First extended trip for me too on the BMW and I completely agree. The roads we were on were made for motorcycles like ours. The bigger and heavier cruisers are wonderful bikes for their purpose but I wouldn’t trade mine for those anymore. Great for long straight rides and probably more comfortable seats but I love my adventure style bike now. I switched out my seat to the BMW comfort seat and it’s a definite upgrade from the stock seat but still not all day comfortable. I still need to get off it every 2 hrs or so. Good to ride with you and let’s get that October trip planned. Take care!

    I bought a 2016 with 9k miles on it exactly like that one. Bought it over a new heritage. The new ones didn’t feel as comfortable and planted on the highway as the old heritage design to me. So I gladly bought the 2016 instead of a 2024. Something is quite different about them. It’s more than just the looks. The new ones felt smaller and more cramped to me. I’m 6’3 and felt cramped on a 2024 but perfect on the 2016. The old one feels more like a Cadillac on the highway and very planted like a road king. If I had to buy a 2024 I’d have to take the road king The icing on the cake was I got my 2016 with 9k miles for 11k too 😂. Much better than 26k for a new one !

    Hi George, I just bought a 2023 HD Heritage classic and I thought of your video when you chose it over the Road King. I see you bought an adventure bike those bikes are really cool. However, I’m only 5’6 to short for such a bike. Well enjoy the ride just wanted to say that I was thinking of you when buying my Heritage. Take care!

    Lovely I have a 2019 750gs. 222kg seems top heavy for me so looking at the tiger gt pro at 200kg dry. What a difference

    What is your opinion of the Heritage for a new rider? I'm retired 6'3" approx 215-225. I'm considering 3 bikes, the Heritage, Street Bob, and the Triumph Bonneville T120.

      @GARamblinMan Місяць тому

      Heritage might be a bit too heavy and powerful for a first time beginner bike. But with your size you should adjust to it quickly. The Street Bob and Triumph T120 might be a bit small but are both good bikes. Check out the Triumph Speedmaster. It’s a little smaller than the Heritage but a great cruiser and probably more comfortable than the Street Bob or Triumph T120. Good luck in your search!.

      It’s a little big and powerful for a brand new rider, but with your size, I think you would adjust quickly to it. I would just take it easy at first and practice especially slow speed maneuvers. Any smaller displacement starter bike is going to be really small and uncomfortable for you. Good luck!

    Very nice video. Lot of effort and thought went i to it. Thank for the info. Do you like the heel toe shifter?

    • @GARamblinMan
      @GARamblinMan Місяць тому

      I had a heel toe shifter on my old Suzuki Boulevard but the Heritage didn’t have it stock and I got used to using just the toe shifter so I never upgraded the Heritage with a heel and toe shifter. Thanks for watching!

    I went to look at new ones for first time in long long times. I was shocked to see a new heritage at 25k. I thought they were around 16k 😂. It’s just a basic softail with bags and windshield. Nothing really special about it. But I decided real quick I’ll just buy a used garage queen for half that 😂. That’s just way too much for a dressed up softail.

      I agree the price has gotten out of hand for the Heritage and a lot of other Harley-Davidson models. I got mine for less than $20K 3 years ago and I thought they were getting too expensive then. There are a lot of other great lower priced choices out there for new motorcycles or like you said, there are plenty of used one’s available. Thanks for watching!

    I was THIS close to getting mine tomorrow 2023 660 The current bikes title is lost, so my purchase has been slightly delayed. Man, I CANNOT WAIT!!! Edit: Trading in my 2023 Rebel 1100 because of the 27" seat height and poorly designed center controls I will miss that cruise control though!!😂

      I think you’ll love this Tiger 660. Nice low seat height and very light and easy to ride bike. Looks great too! Good luck with it and ride safe.
